TCGG is where a deep passion for the guppy meets a commitment to excellence, empowering breeders to reach world-class show quality through science and community.

Our mission is simple: to bridge the gap between home fish-keeping and professional aquaculture. We are a hobby-based, non-profit community of enthusiasts dedicated to the responsible husbandry, art, and science of the fancy guppy. Whether you are here to learn the basics or master show-quality genetics, we provide the resources and community to help you appreciate the guppy fish in all its diversity.

Why We’re Different

We aren't just a social club; we are deeply rooted in the organized hobby both at home and abroad. As members of the Canadian Association of Aquarium Clubs (C.A.O.A.C.) and the International Kuratorium Guppy High-breeding (IKGH), we connect our members to global standards of high-breeding and competitive showing. We don't just follow standards, we help uphold them for the global hobby.

Our Focus

Education

Breaking down complex research into healthy, responsible husbandry.
We empower our members to provide superior care and achieve sustainable, healthy hatchery results. Our goal is to mentor members in the art of maintaining and breeding show-quality guppies according to the rigorous benchmarks of international standards. We encourage every enthusiast to upgrade their skills, adapt to professional protocols, and transform their personal hobby into a world-class breeding practice.

Standards

Promoting the specific traits and proper benchmarks that define world-class fancy guppies. Excellence is measured by precision. We provide the technical frameworks and morphological benchmarks required to breed fish that compete on a global stage, ensuring every TCGG-recognized strain meets international show-quality expectations.

Community

Bringing enthusiasts together to share, learn, and grow the hobby across Canada. We believe that the hobby thrives through collaboration. By fostering a network of supportive peers, we create a space where master breeders and emerging enthusiasts can exchange knowledge, share resources, and collectively advance the Canadian guppy scene.

Member Standards
